Happy Wednesday! What are you playing lately? I mean, besides Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.

I just received the quest in Horizon Zero Dawn to start The Frozen Wilds DLC, so I’ll be playing that this week. In November I mostly played GTA V. I’ve been missing NieR: Automata so I’ll pick that up again, too. Let us know on Twitter or in the comments what games you’re playing and looking forward to! Here’s some of the gaming news and links we’ve been thinking about this week:

Marvel Heroes shuts down

The developer of Marvel Heroes, Gazillion Entertainment, has laid off all of its employees. Gazillion had announced Marvel Heroes would shut down at the end of this year but apparently the end date was moved up to last Friday.

Speaking of layoffs, in case you missed it, Telltale Games laid off 90 employees—a quarter of its workforce—last month.

Destiny 2 and Clicker Heroes 2

As noted last week, there’s been renewed focus lately on loot boxes and other types of paid progression in games. Due to players’ complaints, Destiny 2 is changing its progression system. It previously limited XP gains on some events.

In related news, the developers of Clicker Heroes 2 have ditched the free-to-play model entirely.

So you want to buy a console?

News and tidbits

Games Bleat

Welcome to Games Bleat! I’m Joesph, your local games warlock, and I’m gonna jump right in this week!

This year’s Black Friday sales are on their last legs, meaning you only have a few hours to catch most of those vivacious deals. I’ve gone through and listed some of my favorites so you don’t have to waste any time looking.

We also have a couple of interesting releases for you to watch out for this week. You’ve probably seen at least one of your friends tweeting their friend codes for Nintendo’s new free to play mobile game Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. It may have been released in October, but the game—based on the hit slice-of-life simulation franchise—has burst in popularity over the last week!

And that’s not even all Nintendo’s been working on. The long awaited sequel in the Xeno franchise is finally here, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 releases on December 1 for the Nintendo Switch.

Finally I’ve heard some good things about Fariwalk: The Preludea game just released on Steam this week. It has some reports of glitchiness, and is supposedly very short, but it offers a fun few hours exploring a darkly atmospheric forest.
